The club set to sell Coutinho to Liverpool



Philippe Coutinho left Liverpool for Barcelona in the January 2018 transfer window and since then he has been unable to progress in his career.

The Brazil international was a superstar and fan favorite at Anfield and for some time reports have linked him with a return to the Reds.

In the summer transfer window, Spanish outlet Sport reported that the former Inter Milan playmaker’s main wish is to get back to Liverpool. However, this did not happen. The latest reports suggest Barcelona are set to sell him to the Merseysiders in January.

The South American attacking midfielder was mostly on the treatment table last season, but is now in good shape. According to El Nacional, Barca are expected to pay Liverpool € 20million if the 29-year-old plays his 100th game for the club. So far, he has made 94 appearances.

The Catalan news source mentioned that to avoid payment, the La Liga side are ready to sell the international to 63 caps in the winter transfer window and have offered the Reds the option of signing him again.

It is reported that Liverpool did not despise the operation as Coutinho has proven to be excellent in the Premier League, however manager Jurgen Klopp has made up his mind and confirmed he has no intention of managing at again the star of Samba. Therefore, Barcelona would have to look elsewhere to offload the striker.

In the current campaign, the £ 240,000-a-week star (The mirror) has so far started only two games in all competitions (four appearances) and has yet to score / create a goal for the Nou Camp team.

We have won four major trophies since the Brazilian left and he hasn’t been missed too much. However, we must take into consideration that our midfielder lacks creativity and that a top CAM should be signed.
