TalkSPORT pundit claims Chelsea, 22, is the club’s best player right now

Scott Minto has praised Reece James saying he is Chelsea’s best performing player right now.

James, who is still in the Blues’ starting lineup, continues to become a key figure at Stamford Bridge.

The 22-year-old’s game was taken to new heights by Thomas Tuchel, who was sadly sacked as Blues manager last week.

However, the right-back started and impressed this week in the first game of Graham Potter’s reign as Chelsea head coach.

Owen Hargreaves was blown away by the talented Chelsea defender for his contribution in Wednesday’s 1-1 draw against Red Bull Salzburg in the Champions League group stage.

Scott Minto adored Reece James

TalkSPORT pundit Minto shared he’s a big fan of James. Also, he thinks Potter will love him as a player and wishes there were more versions of him on the team.

“Potter must wish there were five Reece James’s,” Minto said.

“He’s just superb. He’s Chelsea’s best player right now.

In all honesty, that’s a pretty good shoutout from Minto.

James, along with teammates such as Raheem Sterling, Mateo Kovacic and Thiago Silva, are generally Chelsea’s highest-ranked individuals.

The beauty of James is that he gives so much to this Blues XI in both areas of the pitch.

Without bias, James is due to start for England this winter at the World Cup.

England boss Gareth Southgate has so many talents to choose from as a right-back, but the Chelsea star is the best fit in a wing-back system.

You won’t find a better defensive combination across the World Cup than a partnership of James at right-back just ahead of Kyle Walker as right centre-back.

The bar is incredibly high when you consider leaving out players as good as Trent Alexander-Arnold and Kieran Trippier.
