Although the news has recently been dominated by former Hull KR boss Tony Smith following his move to Hull FC, Robins fans can be excited about the arrival of their new boss Willie Peters.
It’s an interesting situation for Hull KR fans, especially when it comes to Tony Smith. He took them from bottom to the Super League semi-finals last year before backing that up with a Challenge Cup semi-final appearance this year.
However, when he revealed he would be leaving at the end of the year, it proved the catalyst for a dip in form which would ultimately cost the Robins a play-off spot and see Smith leave early with Danny McGuire taking on the interim relay. with the boss producing an encouraging end to the year despite an absurd number of absentees only being able to name a 16-man squad in their final game of the season against Hull FC in which they won which likely led to the Brett Hodgson’s departure from Hull FC by mutual consent and Smith’s surprising move across town which has undoubtedly hurt Hull KR fans.
However, now that Willie Peters is finally on his way to the UK since last night, Hull KR fans have reason to be excited again, especially after the recruitment he has already delivered with some superb club signings from Super League – like James Batchelor – and some from the NRL.
Having been appointed months ago, he must surely already be well ahead of the 2023 preparations, and will get the ball rolling in the weeks following his arrival.
✈️ Bon voyage, Willie.

There was positive news off the pitch for Hull KR yesterday and the club announced that in 2022 they had recorded their highest shirt sales since 2017.
Hull KR had three kits in 2022, a red home, a yellow away and a green third kit, all highly regarded.
It’s another reminder of the superb work Hull KR have done off the pitch to build their brand having produced many great initiatives this season to bring fans onto the pitch, such as bring a friend for £1. This has notably helped produce a number of sell-outs as the Craven Park fan zone continues to excel.
