TORONTO, Nov. 08, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — EV Technology Group Ltd. (the “Company” or “EV Technology Group”) (NEO: EVTG, OTCQB: EVTGF, DE: B96A) announces that its strategic partner MOKE International Limited (“MIL” or “MOKE International”) has launched a new dedicated website US customers seeking a build location, with pricing starting at $41,900. After announcing its return to America after 40 years, MOKE International has already generated strong interest in California’s new MOKE electric.

US sales will be limited to 325 cars per year under the 2015 Low-Volume Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Act. After seven years of lobbying by the Specialty Equipment Market Association (“SEMA”), the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (“NHTSA”) has enacted legislation that allows heritage brands to produce derivatives of any any of their models that are over 25 years old but meet current federal safety standards for motor vehicle equipment.

The new Electric MOKE Californian is a faster, more powerful and, most importantly, emission-free revitalization of the original car sold in America between 1977 and 1982. The Electric MOKE Californian accelerates from 0 to 34 mph (55 km/h) in 4.3 seconds, while its gasoline-powered ancestor achieved the same sprint in around 6.3 seconds. The power increases from 39 hp to 44 hp.

This limited-run version – only available for purchase in the US – also features bespoke styling cues such as the “Californian” badge and specially designed MOKE logos.

Isobel Dando, CEO of MOKE International, said: “Interest in the Electric MOKE Californian since we announced its return has been huge, although this is perhaps not surprising given the car’s popularity. of origin. We are excited to once again be able to offer US customers a genuine MOKE vehicle.

Wouter Witvoet, CEO and Founder of EV Technology Group, said, “Without a doubt, the Electric MOKE Californian will weather a storm when it returns to its home territory. Ever since EV Technology Group began working with MOKE International, the number one question from North American investors has been “when can we buy one?”, so I’m confident the building slots will soon be at full capacity.

Hand-built in the UK, the Electric MOKE Californian has a range of up to 80 miles (120 km)* – enough to cover Route 101 to Malibu Beach from Santa Barbara – and a top speed of 50 mph (80 km/h), making it legal to drive on the highway. It’s the first time a highway-legal version of the Mini Moke has gone on sale in America. A full charge takes four hours on a US Type 1 charger.

Much like the Electric MOKE which is on sale in Europe, the Electric MOKE Californian is a reimagining of the 1964 Mini Moke – MOKE International owns the original British Motor Corporation MOKE marks from 1964 and is recognized in over 100 jurisdictions in as the owner of the MOKE brand. .

Since its birth, the Mini Moke has become an icon of fun and freedom, loved for decades in coastal regions such as the French Riviera thanks to its open-top design and go-anywhere attitude. Using an electric powertrain, the Electric MOKE and Electric MOKE Californian now play a role in keeping these beautiful places clean. MOKE International is the first car brand of the 1960s to go 100% electric.
