Fans are now demanding a lucrative new contract for the in-form youngster, who now has two goals and two assists in his last five appearances in all competitions.

The United faithful are even insisting on a costly release clause which would prevent their rivals from snatching him on the road.

One fan tweeted: “Give Garnacho a 10 year contract and £500,000 a week now. Don’t even care.”

Another posted: “For the love of God please give Garnacho a 10 year contract and make sure there’s a £500m buyout in there. No need [Real] Madrid are sniffing around our next outstanding talent.”
