Remember when DaBaby asked JoJo Siwa to perform with him at the 2021 Grammys, but she turned it down because she was busy with a project? We could finally find out what the 17-year-old rainbow enthusiast was doing. Peacock announced the serial revival of a new show with the working title The Dance Pop Siwa Revolution. JoJo will team up with his mom, Jessalynn, to try and create the group’s next global sensation. According to a statement, the “three threats to talented children” found in nationwide research will participate in a series of competitions and performances. Jessalynn will determine the final composition of the new group, while JoJo will be the choreographer and mentor of the show. It all sounds very K-pop in terms of a competition-show format. We’ll see if “kid pop” will become so much of an international phenomenon.

Update, Thursday October 7th 5pm: Peacock drops the first three episodes of Siwas Dance Pop Revolution (the new official title of the reality TV competition) on November 8. The next five episodes will air on the streaming service every week. According to a statement, the pop group formed from the show will be called XOMG Pop. Eleven tweens who are all JoJo fans will compete for places in the final roster, which will be managed by Jessalynn and open for JoJo.
