Everton set up global supporters club committees

Everton’s Fan Engagement Team met with representatives of fan clubs around the world this week.

The meetings are part of the evolution of the supporters’ club committees, which now include four groups covering specific geographies: UK, EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa), Americas and Asia-Pacific.

The supporters club leads from as close as Rice Lane in North Liverpool and from as far away as Perth, Australia, Cairo, Egypt and San Diego in the United States of America will meet quarterly with other fans, in their geographical groupings, to have a structured dialogue with the Club on subjects of interest to their members and their locality.

The first meetings of the updated committees, which aim to bring supporters around the world closer to the Club and make Blues’ views heard in fan clubs, took place this week with a wide range of topics discussed.

Residents of Everton in the UK reviewed supporters club benefits and membership, ticketing and a desire to run more events and activities for national supporters clubs. Meanwhile, the Blues based across EMEA were asked by the Club’s marketing team about Everton’s international membership offer, given an overview of the different matchdays experienced by each club from supporters and were advised on how the club can help educate Evertonians traveling to some of the popular holiday destinations about where they can watch matches.

Asia-Pacific fan clubs discussed Everton’s mid-season visit to Sydney for the Super Cup and learned how the club is working with local fans on a series of engagement events for the trip down.

Affiliated supporter clubs based in the Americas had the opportunity to speak with Everton international team representatives about the continent’s importance to the club’s international strategy and the upcoming Premier League live event at Philadelphia, while fans were given an opportunity to provide informal feedback. on Everton’s recent pre-season tour, which included fan-run events in Baltimore, Washington DC and Minneapolis.

As each supporters club committee meeting was the inaugural meeting, the groups elected a chairman to act as the figurehead of the supporters club committees.

The results of each election were as follows:

– United Kingdom – Phil O’Rourke, Taxi Club Blues

– EMEA – Helge Grunnevaag, Everton FC Norway

– Asia-Pacific – Tim Ohlson, Perth Toffees

– The Americas – John Duchak, DC Toffees

The supporters club committees will continue to meet with the club on a quarterly basis, with the next meeting scheduled for December 2022.
