Leeds-based commercial property developer and investor Eshton Group has strengthened its management team with the appointment of David Aspland as director.

He has over 25 years’ experience in the commercial, residential development and property investment market, having previously worked for Donaldsons, Unite PLC and as a director for Savills and a partner at Carter Jonas. Subsequently, in 2017, he joined Illuminating Investments.

His role within the Eshton Group will focus on identifying acquisition opportunities by further leveraging his extensive network of agents and developers in the Yorkshire region, and exploiting relevant property trends to make the most of advantage of the sites and opportunities offered.

Global property adviser CBRE has welcomed its latest influx of emerging talent with three new graduates joining the Leeds office.

Clare Hill (MSc Real Estate Management and Development) at Herriott Watt University; Bethan Williams (BA (Hons) French and Linguistics) from the University of Leeds and Matt Giloney (MSc Real Estate) from the University of Sheffield have been recruited to the company’s comprehensive graduate training program team which begins in the fall.

Hill and Williams have already joined, helping the ratings and real estate investment teams before the graduate program began.

CBRE hires graduates who are passionate about real estate, but also have the academic edge to help take the business to the next level.

A real estate agency has strengthened its board of directors to boost ambitious growth plans.

Bradley Hall, who has a base in Leeds, has appointed a new board member while strategically aligning his current board member roles as he seeks to increase turnover by 4.8 million to £10 million over the next three to five years as his squad grows from 58 to 120.

Cassie Moyse joins the board as Group Marketing Director. Three of the company’s shareholders are taking on roles that will see them focus on the strategic growth of their own business areas.

Richard Rafique will become Managing Director – Commercial, Matt Hoy becomes Managing Director – Residential, David Cran becomes Managing Director – Yorkshire, while Catherine Bowley and Paul Czerepok will remain Group Chief Operating Officer and Group Chief Financial Officer respectively.

The newly defined roles will allow Group Managing Director Neil Hart and Group Director Peter Bartley to support key customers and develop Bradley Hall’s overall business strategy across each of its services.

This follows a year of significant growth for the company, with the opening of a new office in Leeds city center and the creation of over 20 jobs across the business.

Rafique, who was manager and co-owner of Bradley Hall alongside Neil Hart and Peter for seven years, said: “With our roles redefined in line with the new demands that come with a growing business, as well as the appointment of Cassie as our manager group marketing, we have a clear strategy and responsibilities to facilitate business growth.

“Our new board structure, along with our fantastic team and the new talent we will be bringing to the business over the next few years, will certainly support this.”

Moyse is an experienced public relations and marketing professional and in her new role she will deliver more “strategic and results-driven campaigns” while continuing to lead the agency’s key marketing efforts, including; Public relations, digital, business development, events and growth opportunities.

She will also continue to run the business and lifestyle magazine, Portfolio North, as a separate entity.

Moyse said: “It has been incredible to play a part in the growth of Bradley Hall over the past five years as PR, Marketing and now Marketing Director.

“Our goal is to continue to be a company small enough to care about both our team and our customers, to create and maintain good relationships with all our stakeholders while having the autonomy, the motivation, the knowledge and passion to deliver the best results.”

Hoy, who will continue to lead the company’s residential operations, said: “While forecasted economic headwinds will naturally pose challenges for the residential property industry in the months and years to come, we remain confident that the expertise of our team will continue to drive the residential arm of the business as we look to the future.

Cran will take on the responsibility of managing director of Yorkshire, as Bradley Hall looks to continue to invest in the region and expand its footprint outside the North East.

As well as overseeing the main Leeds office, including managing all service lines, Cran’s new role will also see him lead the company’s expansion into Sheffield, Hull, York and North Lincolnshire.

Yorkshire estate agent and qualified residential appraiser, Tim Waring, has added his talents to the growing team of experts at GSC Grays.

A Chartered Surveyor and RICS Chartered Appraiser with over 30 years’ experience of the Yorkshire property market, he will be based at the newly opened GSC Grays office in Boroughbridge.
