Boxes of the new Diamond Crown Black Diamond cigars arrived at JC Newman’s Tampa headquarters and began shipping to retailers this week.
The brand, introduced in 2016, was recently revamped when Drew Newman, the company’s fourth-generation owner, updated the packaging and beefed up the mix.
“Although our Diamond Crown Black Diamond cigars have been relished by cigar lovers around the world for six years, I was not satisfied and wanted to improve on them,” Newman said.

Although the appearance and level of resistance have changed, the prices, sizes and number of boxes are the same. Diamond Crown black diamonds are made in the Dominican Republic by Tabacalera A. Fuente y Cia. and are made with 100% Dominican tobaccos, with the exception of the dark Connecticut Havana wrapper.
The brand is available in boxes of 20 units in three sizes: Radiant, measuring 4 1/2 inches by 54 rings; Emerald, at 6 by 52 and Marquise, at 5 1/4 by 56. Suggested retail prices before taxes range from $18 to $21.
