Club tweet hints Joelinton will play for Newcastle vs Everton

Newcastle United are sweating over Joelinton’s fitness ahead of tonight’s clash with Everton.

The 25-year-old has become a key player for Eddie Howe, playing a pivotal role in the Magpies’ midfield.

However, Joelinton has missed Newcastle’s previous two games, playing no part in the win over Southampton or the loss to Chelsea. He was present for both games, but not considered fit enough for the bench.

Then it’s Everton – Newcastle’s last game before the international break. And Howe suggested Joelinton could return.

“He’s touch and go for this game,” Howe said before the game.

“We have a decision to make. Whether we deal with him with the break we have next or push him back there, we’re going to have to make a late call for that one.

Newcastle are not desperate for Joelinton to return. Bruno Guimaraes and Sean Longstaff have played brilliantly at Chelsea, while Joe Willock is much closer to a comeback.

But seeing the Brazilian against Everton would be a welcome sight.

Newcastle tweet suggests Joelinton will play Everton

Ahead of the match, the club’s official Twitter posted an image with match details such as kick-off time and stadium name – Goodison Park.

But the most interesting aspect of the image is its Brazilian touch…

As you can see above, there’s a Brazilian flag in the top left corner, with pictures of the famous Joelinton Hawaiian shirts below. Does that suggest he’s ready to come back tonight? If so, Dele Alli and co will be worried.

Joelinton has been in great shape since Howe took over as coach. He had an incredible resurgence in a Toon shirt, becoming a fan favorite.

He’s been missed in the last two games so it would be very exciting to see his name on the squad sheet again against Everton – even though he’s just a substitute.

Of course, we could read too much. After all, it’s just a tweet…
