avenged sevenfold recently announced the Bat Club, a new level of connection with fans around non-fungible tokens, or TVN– digital assets that cannot be replicated. After a first drop of 101 free NFTs to whet fans’ appetites, they’re ready to release 10,000 via avengedsevenfold.io, with all those who buy one being part of the community.
The group recently previewed the collection, showcasing a number of images of what the latest Deathbats could look like. While each true Deathbat will be a unique image, these preview images show that the series will be filled with unique characters, those who reflect the imagery and appearance of the A7X community.

The scale of this collection consolidates Avenged Sevenfold as innovators in the space and leaders in the industry, paving the way for how bands and fans will understand the space and its usefulness in the future. There are real, three dimensional, flesh and blood perks available to anyone who gets their hands on one.
As an early adopter of cryptocurrency and a man with an impressive NFT collection himself, Mr. Shadows knows a lot about space and sees his mission as, in addition to providing fans with unique experiences, educating them in what he adamantly is, is the future.
Here, the leader takes Alternative Press inside the new club with exclusive insights and information.
Many artists have entered the NFT space, but the Deathbats Club is doing so on a scale that no other group seems to have embraced yet.
This is what we do. It’s been interesting for us to see the reaction of people who are already in space and to understand what’s going on, and people who are not in space at all. There are different levels of understanding of what crypto is, or blockchain, and how it can hopefully make something like what we do work seamlessly. But there are different levels of “Crypto is a SCAM!” “Or” I have Bitcoin … “. This is amazing. It’s going to be awesome! ”So we’re dealing with everything on different levels, which has been interesting.
While an NFT is digital in nature, what you expect also involves a lot of analog and real-world experiences.
What I have achieved with the NFT collections, such as the Bored monkeys, was that they were getting utility out of nowhere. They were like, “OK, if you buy a bored monkey it might go up in value, so buying it might be a speculative game. But, if you have it, you also get exclusive merch drops. You can go to parties on yachts in Miami. You can go to parties in Vegas… it’s basically your ticket to a club.
I thought, we have a fan base who want the music and have access to us. We have 20 years of goodwill with our fans, and they still want stuff — Zoom calls, Syn guitar lessons [Gates, A7X guitarist], gifts, exclusive products, everything.
i saw what [entrepreneur] Gary [Vaynerchuk] was doing, where he transformed his NFTs not into an art collection but into an entry into his lectures; a pledge of his time. That’s when it clicked for me.
What does an NFT Deathbats Club involve?
A lot of these things are going to have insane benefits. These things are going to cost around $ 150, which some people have complained about, but the reality is that they would happily buy a $ 200 box of merchandise every month. For that $ 150, you get all of those things that you would never get for a price close to that price. Each has perks like your own line in shows, your own product drops and discounts.
But there will be some that will have specific traits. It’s like a baseball card with different stats and values - the algorithm is set so that certain percentages are created with certain traits, but nothing has been done yet until you do. Say you are a fan: you go to avengedsevenfold.io, you put the money in and it’s created there and sent to your wallet. We don’t know what you are getting; you don’t know what you are getting.

But 10% has the feature where you get free tickets for life. There will be free lifetime dating, care packages airmailed to you, all kinds of stuff you can’t get in the store, shipped to you twice a year just by owning the NFT. So everyone pays the same price, and you could be the one who gets free tickets for life. It’s so cool.
Syn releases three tokens where, every year, he will send the owner his new custom guitar. So if you own this token, every year you will receive a new personalized Synyster Gates guitar sent to you. I play golf a lot and I’m going to have three that I take you and your friends to play every year. So I’m going to do this three times a year forever. Everyone who comes in is way above what they pay for. But you can get things that will blow your mind.
If someone likes Avenged Sevenfold and likes the sound of what’s on offer but is struggling to fully understand the space, where do you start?
Well, there are different types of people, and I always suggest different things to people because the information is out there. I had to learn. There are a lot of YouTube videos, and the NFT community is great – if someone goes to a forum asking what’s going on, people are rushing to help.
But there are a lot of our fans who are like, “We don’t want to watch it. We want you to tell us what to do. So one thing we do is create a bunch of educational videos – me and Syn walking through the steps of what crypto is, what blockchain is, how to buy Ethereum, how to send it to your wallet. MetaMask, how to log into OpenSea, how to knock… There are a lot of steps, and there is a saying in the NFT community, which is: Buying your first NFT is the hardest part. After that, the doors are open and you go for the races.

Then there are other people that I would just like to stay at the top level for: you buy a token that allows you to get into a club, and you don’t need to know or worry about what. is blockchain or its importance. Just be aware that this token cannot be replicated and is yours until you don’t want it anymore.
We will continue to make music. If you don’t want nothing to do with it, records will come out, and we will play concerts. We’re just trying to bring the audience into the future with us.
