While I found that my dog pulled less with a hands-free leash, I wouldn’t consider him an aggressive puller by any means. And while I don’t personally mind a little tug every now and then, it’s generally not a good idea to walk dogs who pull a lot with a hands-free leash, as it can negatively impact your back.

Are hands-free leashes safe?

Hands-free dog leashes are safe when used correctly with dogs that are leash-trained (ideally, without pulling). If your dog pulls or lunges after things, a waist dog leash might not be the best option for you and your pup. Safety first, please. Grab your goggles and gloves—this is a powerful machine. Place the chipper on a flat surface and adjust the exit shoot to direct the output of the pulverized material. Then, simply feed the branches with the large diameter side first. When the beast begins to chew, let go of the branch, as auto-feed should kick in.

After testing it inside, I took it with me on my next car ride. My car has a USB outlet under the head unit, so I plugged the diffuser in there and set it in my center console cupholder. It only took seconds for the fragrance of the essential oils to fill my car and, honestly, I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. With my iced coffee in one cupholder and the diffuser in the other, I drove around feeling ultra-relaxed and like I really had my life together (if only for the time it took me to drive to the grocery store).

The fine mist came out powerfully and steadily, and I even received compliments from friends on the way my car smelled. If you’re someone who is perpetually anxious while driving because you’re normally running late (just me?), you might also find that this diffuser makes you feel a little more at ease on your route. I did.

I will say, however, I had some trouble switching the mist mode to the intermittent setting. So, when I used it, I left it on the continuous mist mode. The light mode has one setting, and it cycles through different colors. I didn’t notice it too much when I was driving, as the base of the diffuser was mostly hidden by my car cupholder. However, when I had it plugged in inside, next to my computer, the changing light was a nice added feature.

I did make sure to unplug the diffuser when I turned off my car to avoid any risk of draining the battery. You’ll probably want to do the same if your car doesn’t have an accessory power shut-off feature. The diffuser does power off when it runs out of water, however, so that’s a helpful feature if you forget to unplug it.

You can use them like you would a dry mop, however, they’re not waterproof. If you’re going to use them with a cleaning solution, we recommend using a cleaner that sprays, so that you don’t completely saturate the slipper and get your feet wet.

I wear a size 10 in women’s tennis shoes, and I did have a little bit of trouble pulling these over my shoes. So, if your feet are larger than a women’s size 10 (men’s 8), you’ll probably have to use these without shoes.

How We Tested Them

I put these mop slippers to the test as soon as they arrived in the mail, as my apartment floors—which are laminate—desperately needed cleaning. I used them as a dry duster first, picking up dog hair and other day-to-day dirt that had accumulated since my last cleaning. They did a fine job picking up clumps of hair and lint. They did, however, also leave behind a little bit of their own lint, which probably could have been avoided had I washed the slippers first.

Next, I popped on another pair and used an all-purpose spray cleaner to spot clean areas in my apartment that get more foot traffic. The mop slippers soak up quite a bit of liquid (which is great if you’re using them to clean up a spill). So, I found myself spraying the floors frequently while cleaning.

I also gave a pair to my mom, who has hardwood floors throughout her home, and she liked the way they cleaned. In fact, I would say that the mop slippers are best suited for hardwood floors over any other type of flooring. Hardwood and laminate flooring can be moisture-sensitive, so using a water-absorbent mop head, like these microfiber mop slippers, are a smart choice for cleaning without excess liquid.

What occurred to me later, however, became my favorite thing about the mop slippers: They’re a smart way to keep pet hair off your socks when you’re walking around the house. No matter how often you clean, if you have animals in your home, it seems like your socks are inevitably doomed to collect hair.
