This week on Stuff We Love, Marty Dyck shares three framing hammers that each bring something different to the table. They include a demolition-ready steel hammer from Estwing, an old-fashioned wood-handled variety from Milwaukee Tool and a sleek, powerful hammer from Stiletto.
To find out what Marty loves about these tools, watch the video below. To learn more about each individual product and to find out where you can buy them online, keep reading.
28-ounce Estwing Steel Hammer
This hammer is just as suited to build things as it is to tear them apart. The entire hammer is made in one piece from forged steel, giving it integrity and power behind every swing. The grip is specially made to reduce shock and the grippy, milled face of the hammer, while not great for any finish work, will help reduce the number of times you mishit a nail.
Milwaukee Hickory Hammer
There’s something classic about the way this hammer looks and feels in your hand. The wooden handle makes the Milwaukee Hickory hammer feel light and well-balanced while also contributing to its old-school look. Not everything about this tool is old-fashioned, though: there’s a magnetic nail starter in the head, and the claw is made with “anti-ring” technology to reduce the amount of noise made when you hit something.
Stiletto 15-ounce Ti-Bone Smooth Face Hammer
Making a hammer out of titanium means that it can weigh almost half as much as a steel while still maintaining the same striking force. Stiletto’s Ti-Bone Smooth Face hammer has an ergonomic handle to go along with its titanium build, and the side nail puller is so convenient you’ll wonder how you ever got along without one.
